The fad never really took off from the start, but was offered as an alternative song to "Ridin Spinnaz". The song is used to show various people/things spinning, including the original "Ridin Spinnaz" image.
Like "Ridin Spinnaz", "You Spin Me Round" is considered a Narvish fad, as pretty much any GIF depicting something spinning is set to the song.
