The first fad began on December 5, 2005.  The first fad showed the 5 sailor scouts preparing to confront a random person/item.  The original one featured Bob from the Enzyte (prescription drug) commericials waving his hand.  The song of choice was the popular "Requiem for a Tower" theme, though the excerpt differed from the one used in the [[Fire Spirit]] fad.  After the original site, many fad sites popped up within the span of 2-3 days before dying down slowly due to the lack of creativity.

The Sailor Moon vs. fad is generally more popular than the Sailor Moon Meets fad.  The original site was created one day after the first Sailor Moon meets, but it didn't emerge as a fad until December 18th when the original site was sponsored.  The original site titled "Sailor Moon vs. Sakaki" featured Sakaki from Azumanga Diaoh throwing a ball at Sailor Moon, who then deflects the ball away, leaving off an explosion.  The music that accompanied this fad was "Invincible" by Pat Benatar (found on Volume 8 of the [[YTMND Soundtrack]]).  Once the site was able to reach the front page, the fad began.  The fad yielded sites with higher scores, but way below that of Sailor Moon Meets.  The fad died out when the Ebaumsworld debacle occured, but sites do spawn once in a while including a recent age 9 parody.

This is for the first Sailor Moon fad. For the fad where Sailor Moon deflects projectiles, see Sailor Moon vs..

The first fad began on December 5, 2005. The first fad showed the 5 sailor scouts preparing to confront a random person/item. The original one featured Bob from the Enzyte (prescription drug) commericials waving his hand. The song of choice was the popular "Requiem for a Tower" theme, though the excerpt differed from the one used in the Fire Spirit fad. After the original site, many fad sites popped up within the span of 2-3 days before dying down slowly due to the lack of creativity.

Miscellaneous

Contrary to popular opinions, the people shown in both fads are not cosplayers, but actresses for the live-action TV show. In the past, the original image was used (without Bob), but with little effort as only the 5 scouts were shown with different music.
