TetrisAnarchist's "The other truth about Soylent Green..." shows Data making a startling observation about it.

Soylent Green is a 1973 science fiction movie starring Charlton Heston, Edward G. Robinson, Joseph Cotten and Chuck Connors. It is loosely based on the 1966 science fiction novella about overpopulation by Harry Harrison, Make Room! Make Room!, but diverges into its own plot points and ideas.

The film's title refers to the fictional artificial food product at the center of its plot. Due to the cult popularity of the film, the term 'soylent green' has come into popular usage as a reference to this food product, or any food of dubious origin. It has also been referenced by numerous media sources and parodied in many television series.

Worthy Spinoffs:

During the early days of ytmnd, the user Grog created a classic-styled ytmnd from the movie. The picture showed Charles Heston looking at pieces of soylent green, yelling his popular catchphrase along with the text "Soylent Green is People." The ytmnd became popular and was eventually made as a moderators favorite. It did not really catch on as a fad instantly, but over time, it was referenced and spawned parodies.
