Skatebird was originally a site posted on 6/5/2006 by the user dctownes that featured nothing more than a static image of a bird on a skateboard. He also spelled bird as brid, possibly to add to the humor of the site. We hope.
On 7/24/2007 the user nutnics decided to give the bird life by animating it actually skateboarding and grinding.
On 9/24/2007 the user lowcast put his spin on the bird pulling an infinite-shove-it over the planet earth in space.
On 9/26/2007 the user laundry took skatebird out of his element and put it on a snowboard.
FAST FORWARD to 8/3/2008 the user Awesomebob made a skatebird site, launching it into what people now call "fad status." Then other sites were created featuring the bird(brid) followed suit.
